Health Literacy Conference

July 20, 2023

The Global CPR Training team attended the Health Literacy Conference hosted by the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center and SaferCare Texas this past July. Our team had the opportunity to speak about the importance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and cardiovascular health to community members, public health professionals, and healthcare workers. Through hands-on demonstrations and CPR-related videos, our team was able to debunk myths surrounding theses topics while educating those who have yet to gain these life-saving skills.

Furthermore, conversations with leading public health professionals allowed our team to expand their knowledge base on health literacy patient safety issues related to topics such as maternal health, the opioid epidemic, and financial literacy. The conference focused on the Healthy People 2030 Health Literacy Objectives and our team is beyond proud to be helping our nation on the specific goals of improving cardiovascular health in adults and increasing the rate of bystander CPR/AED use.
